The new moon is the time just after the dark moon when the first silver of the moon is present in the sky.  Use this time to work with her for all new endeavors. When you're ready to go forward with those things that you want to expand in your life.  

I use this time to focus my energy on new beginnings and as part of that I clean my space with moon water and empty any offerings or left over magical items.  I'll then call the quarters and sing this chant to the goddess.
