About the Sanctuary
an official Sanctuary of the Covenant of Hekate
Some History
The Sanctuary of Hekate Brimo is something I have been looking to create for quite a while. My original Sanctuary was called The Sanctuary of Hekate Trivia and was established on May 18, 2015. In October 2016, Hurricane Matthew hit our area and my entire property was covered with flood waters, polluted with human and animal wastes, chemical and fuel spills, and of course the aftermath of the flooded hog, turkey, and chicken farms that were not evacuated from the rising waters. I felt I had no choice but to close the Sanctuary in the wake of such devastation.
From the ashes, however, I felt it was now time after a global pandemic and the flames of war rising, to refocus this energy and bring back the goddess to these lands. I am establishing the Sanctuary of Hecate Brimo as an official sanctuary of the Covenant of Hekate. I recall my last dedicate ritual, I held a bonfire and while I was taking photos, the image to the right appeared. I can clearly see the outline of the goddess holding a torch in the flames. To me, this was a message of acceptance for the work I planned to do then, and now like a phoenix rising from the ashes, she has called to me to revive my work in the light of her flames as Hecate Brimo.
The Sanctuary of Hecate Brimo IS NOT a magical or spiritual tradition, instead, we are a community united by our passion for the Goddess Hecate, in her many forms, faces, and manifestations in the 21st century.
Who am I?
I am an ordained spiritual counselor, artist, reader, and intuitive living in rural North Carolina. I make my home on the banks of the Neuse River, as the Neuse River Witch, with my partner of 20 years and our fur babies. I work with several divination tools but prefer photo and body readings. I have a strong connection to working with the beloved dead and conducting rituals to welcome them when the veil is the thinnest. I joined the Covenant of Hekate in 2012 with the completion of the right of the red cord and delved into learning all she could about the goddess. I advanced to Torchbearer in 2014 and then joined the ranks as one of the first Keybearers in 2018. I strive to continually grow within my spiritual path and currently consider myself a Buddhist Hecatean. I look to incorporate the five virtues and the four noble truths into my daily life.
My professional certifications include:
Torchbearer & Keybearer of the CoH, RSO, RSM, PMI-ACP, Ordained Spiritual Counselor, Certified Holistic Wellness Coach, International Yogi Certification, Certified Crystal Master, Aroma Therapy Practitioner & Expert Sound Healer Certification

Why Hecate Brimo?
To me, there is nothing more dangerous than a mother protecting her young. When I see Hecate Brimo, I see her as an angry mother. The mother sees her children suffering and is coming to save them. I recognize Hecate as the mother of all life and even the source of our souls. When she sees our homeless left aside, she is angry. When she sees the animals that we should be protecting left out in the cold she is angry. This anger turns to action when we call upon her to give her knowledge and wisdom to help us help others. In the work of the Sanctuary of Hecate Brimo, my goal will be to honor her by using my body, mind, and spirit to help those in need, protect those who cannot protect themselves, and lift those who have fallen.
Sanctuary Commitment
The Sanctuary of Hecate Brimo's Commitment to the Community
The Sanctuary of Hecate Brimo will be a virtual first sanctuary where I will provide support and guidance for those looking to walk with Hecate along the middle path. We will honor the five virtues and conduct our days in line with the goddess. We will focus our energy to help those in need, protect those who cannot protect themselves, and lift those who have fallen.
The physical sanctuary will be located in Seven Springs, North Carolina on a small 3.5-acre plot near the Neuse River. When possible we will conduct rituals for the dark moon and solstices.
Our work for the community will consist of supporting those who are less fortunate by supporting our local outreach groups. Blessing Box of Goldsboro and Furever Paws.
We will be a public sanctuary open to members and non-members of CoH.
Blessing Box of Goldsboro is a program that sets up boxes around the area that can be filled with food, clothing, or other items for those who need help. As part of the monthly deipnon we will donate and work with others to collect donations for these boxes.
Furever Paws is a local animal rescue group that works with local businesses, vets, and citizens to help those animals in need. This group does everything from nursing orphaned kittens to helping those dogs with injuries get the medical attention they need. They also work in the community to trap and spay/neuter (TNR) feral cat colonies around the county. Our work will focus primarily on foster, transportation, and TNR services.
My Torchbearer Commitment
I am committed to doing the work of the goddess by using this sanctuary as a catalyst to help others learn about Hecate Brimo. While yes, she is the angry one, I believe we focus that anger on making real changes in the world. There is no more dangerous animal than a mother protecting her young. This is how I see Hecate Brimo. It is my commitment to use that energy to find ways to make change, focus energy and be the tool to create a way forward for those in need.
